We believe in making change in every way possible to not just by helping youth in need but to make sure we voice out and get the word out there to people about mental health so that we can break the stigma revolving around within our community.
At our Resource center we make sure to provide the space that the young minds need today. It’s an open and free space to come in and be able to feel involved and inclusive at the same time learn more about how to deal with mental health. rYMs would be able to address this gap in the health education by tapping into two aspects.
- We use experiential techniques to teach mental wellbeing skills.
- Creating an environment where the youth can openly communicate about all things mental health.
We break the stigma everywhere and make sure that we get connected to today’s youth in ways they understand. We use our social media to reach out to people and advocate mental health literacy to the youth.
SCARF-cR-WPA Knowledge practice transformation program for school mental health
SCARF in partnership with the citiesRISE program and the World Psychiatric Association organized a 2 day knowledge practice transformation workshop on the 27th and 28th of January 2020 to enable and encourage mental health professionals to provide services in school based settings. This program led to not only enhancing the skills of mental health professionals but, also created linkages so that they were able to engage with each other and were able to share available opportunities to work in school settings.
